Meet The Pastor
Pastor Marion Davis Sr. was born Augusta 23, 1954 in
Alexander, Georgia, He is the sixth of eight children raised by a single mother, the late Ruby Lee Davis who instilled in them fear of the Lord and the value of hard work. Her words of wisdom “anything worth having is worth working hard to get” were spoken daily and served as a reminder that there is no replacement for hard work.
His journey to ministry began eighteen years ago. Licensed to preach in 2007, ordained in 2009, and sent out to start a church in the East Augusta area by Bishop G.M. Fuller in 2009. Where the Church’s mission of “Finding the Lost, Loving the Least, and Serving the Left-out” has become a cornerstone of everyday practice.
A graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School Class of 1973, he attended Phillips Junior College majoring in Business Administration.
Pastor Davis previously studied at Augusta School of Biblical Studies and Southern Wesleyan University and is currently enrolled at City View Seminary, a firm believer that furthering his education, will allow him to better serve the Lord and his people.
Pastor Davis has been married to Beverlyn Johnson Davis for thirty- seven years and to this union they have been blessed with four awesome children, (Yarkus, Marion Jr., Adrian, and Melissa) and six grandchildren (Tavares, Carl, Taylor, Karliqa Lynn, Kylie Marie, and Gage Leander). Pastor Davis often credits his wife Beverlyn as the source of his strength and encouragement. God’s word says, “when a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing,” and he has found that in Beverlyn.
Growing up and spending time on a farm, Pastor Davis learned the value of hard work through the process of sowing, planting and harvesting. These three elements are the blood, and life line of the farmer. As a farmer must give his all for the cause of sowing and planting in order to reap a bountiful harvest, so it is with the ministry of preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the life of Pastor Davis.
